Southampton Friends at Southampton Days

Southampton Friends Stephen Moyer, and Jim and Carolyn Michener spent two evenings in July doing Quaker outreach at this year’s Southampton Days.

Bucks Quarter provided Friends with the “Quaker Table in a Box,” which had plenty of information about local Quakers that they could hand out to and discuss with passersby.

They also set up our famous “tile painting” for the children, and they were able to engage the parents in conversation while the children created their tile masterpieces.

The "Pick a Quaker" game was also a hit, and a great way to draw people to the table. And Carolyn, concerned that there were no recycling bins, collected over 100 aluminum soda cans in one evening. She remarked, “it was an additional opportunity to talk to people about stewardship and Quakerism.”

All in all, it was a fun time for Southampton Friends and for everyone who stopped by to learn about local Quakers.
