10:00 am Program: Nurturing Vocal Ministry: Toward a Vital Culture of Eldership: Steven Davison will share some thoughts from his Pendle Hill Pamphlet Nurturing Vocal Ministry: Toward a Vital Culture of Eldership. We’ll explore why nurturing Spirit-led messages in our meetings is so important and some ways in which the meeting can foster its vocal ministry and address problems with the ministry. We will explore what it means to have a calling to vocal ministry. And we’ll put this work in the context of a wider culture of eldership—the ways in which we nurture each other's spiritual lives.
A Friend for forty years, Steven Dale Davison is currently a member of Princeton Meeting in Princeton, New Jersey. He is the author of the Quaker blog, Through the Flaming Sword and of the Pendle Hill Pamphlets The Gathered Meeting and Nurturing Vocal Ministry: Toward a Vital Culture of Eldership. A book on what Quakers believe is in development with Inner Light Books and he is also working on a book titled Quakers and Capitalism, an economic history of Friends and of the indispensable contributions Quakers made to industrial capitalism. He is the author of three books of poetry. Mr. Davison lives with his wife Christine M. Lewandoski in Pennington, New Jersey (named after Isaac Penington’s family).

1:00 pm Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business: Annual reports from Newtown, Plumstead and Solebury meetings, annual reports from the Peace Fair Committee and the Audit committee, and the regular quarterly report from your Coordinator. Advance documents will be available here shortly. There will be childcare provide for those who need it.
