Bucks Quarter February Quarterly Meeting

  • Middletown Friends Meeting 453 West Maple Avenue Langhorne, PA, 19047 United States (map)

Bucks Quarter Friends, under the care of Middletown Friends Meeting, will have a hybrid gathering of informative programming, worship, fellowship and business.

The zoom room will open at 9:45 am so Friends can socialize before our program, which begins at 10:00 am.

The program will be a panel discussion with teachers, parents and students from the Bucks Learning Cooperative.

The Bucks Learning Cooperative is a self-directed education center for area teenagers who want to leave traditional school and take charge of their education. They offer classes, workshops, field trips, mentoring, independent study and more! BLC provides a warm, welcoming, inclusive space and combines the most valuable parts of school with personalized attention. Most of all, BLC gives kids and their families the freedom to choose how they learn. The panel will include teens and parents currently enrolled at BLC who will share their experiences in self-directed learning and take questions from the audience. They are always looking for ways to engage with the larger community, as well as recruiting volunteers who are interested in sharing their wisdom and knowledge with young people.

Children’s Program: An in-person children’s program will be offered; registration is required.

Meeting for Worship will follow at 11:00 am. Lunch will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm; Friends should bring a brown bag lunch; drinks and desserts to be provided by Middletown Friends.

Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business will begin at 1:00 pm. We will be hearing annual reports from Doylestown, Makefield and Quakertown Meetings, Friends Camp Association (Camp Onas), Budget & Nominating (preliminary budget for next year) and Outreach Committee.
