America Coast to Coast for the Semiquincentennial

In 1776, America’s 13 colonies were clustered along the eastern seaboard.

In 2026 as we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th birthday - or semiquincentennial – we have grown to 50 states that span from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

Many of us have not had the chance to travel across our great country, so Plumstead Friends are providing the next best thing – a slide show by Plumstead Friend and amateur photographer Dafydd Jones, who has made the journey and taken photographs all along the way.

The program will be about one hour long and show landscape and wildlife photographs from almost half the states in roughly a circumnavigation of the lower 48 states.

Dafydd Jones

A resident of Bucks County since 1958, Dafydd had a childhood of Kodak Instamatics, then moved to a 35 mm camera in 1979, and on to medium format in 1995 looking for higher resolution. In 2000 he started taking large format photography courses at Bucks County Community College and that became his camera of choice when possible. His preferred subjects are nature and landscapes, particularly in black and white. Shooting locations have included about half of the U. S. states as well as multiple overseas destinations. Dafydd will provide commentary with each photograph.

This is a family friendly show; admission and parking are free. All are welcome.
