Our tent
at the Grange Fair drew some 5223 visitors, an incredible leap from last year. Kids
came to draw pictures on white rocks, which they took home. Many people took
Quaker literature from our tables. Our schools and facilities had lots of
information. Our flyers for Q101, the Seekers Gathering, and the Peace Fair at
Buckingham were picked up by visitors. Our new sign outside the tent helped
folks find us. Ann D’Silva (Newtown Meeting) did juggling for our visitors.
Holly Olson (Middletown) spray painted all the rocks. Chris Langhart
(Buckingham), Bill Kirby (Falls), and Jed Smith (Doylestown) did the set-up and
tear-down for the lights, hanging the horizontal panels, and much more. Thirty-eight
people manned the tent. That was not enough. Sometimes only one person was
there for several hours, when we really needed two. Some folks failed to show
up at all or came on the wrong day. The total amount of time for the tent is
112 hours! Would you be willing to be contacted next year? Call Karen Shaudys
at 215-493-9406.
