This successful workshop is based on the curriculum "How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk." Parents Helping Parents - A Support Group for Parents meets Monday evenings from 7:30 - 8:30 PM, at the United Christian Church at 8525 New Falls Road in Levittown.There is no cost and childcare is provided.The group meets weekly and gives parents a chance to discuss the problems and stresses of raising children.Meetings are open to all interested parents.Call 215-750-7220.

Economic sanctions were imposed on Iraq in 1990 as an alternative to military intervention after Iraq invaded Kuwait.Today they are a failed policy.In 1991 the U.N. decided to continue the sanctions to prevent the production of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, but the sanctions themselves have become a weapon of mass destruction targeting innocent Iraqis and inflicting inhumane levels of suffering.Three senior U.N. administratiors of Iraqi relief aid have resigned to protest: Denis Halliday, Hans von Sponek, & Jutta Burghardt. The Children's Cultural Center of Bucks County is sponsoring International Day, on Sunday, September 17th at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds on Penns Park Road in Wrightstown, PA.The time is 12-6:00 pm.This celebration of cultural and ethnic diversity in Bucks needs your help.The objective is to bring together performers, ethnic foods, musicians, craftspeople, artists and others who can demonstrate some aspect of their culture.Also needed are participants who can put on children's events and educational sessions about their particular country.Admission is free.Parking is $5.Call 215-230-0160 for more information.

Vita Education Services is again offering volunteer tutoring training sessions beginning in September. Concerns committee raised $250 to purchase a water buffalo for The Heifer
Project.
Nell Daly (also Middletown Meeting)
went to a work camp in Mexico, sponsored by PYM's Standing Committee on
Education and led by Cookie Caldwell.She didn't know anyone on the trip but
found new Friends, worked hard, and had a wonderful time.
The Quaker School at Horsham now has a
Quakerism program for all students.Friends Council on Education provided
seventy-five new books that reinforce Quaker values and heritage.Joanna
Robinson, teacher, runs the program.
The Chandler Hall Flea Market will be

reports that Gail Roth (Wrightstown) has led a "signature quilt" of
living Quakers activity with the First Day School.Children have written an
array of well-known Quakers and asked for their signatures andinformation about
their lives and work.
Friends will want to purchase the new
33 cent Dr. Martin Luther King stamp which celebrates Dr. King's historic March
on Washington.
The Quaker Information Center seeks a
young adult Quaker as a full-time, 11-month intern from September 2000, to
August 2001, with $280/week stipend,
medical coverage, assistance in finding housing.The Director will be away from
