Jim Fine (Falls Meeting) has written a moving article in Quaker Life (Jan-Feb 2000) about his trip to Iraq.  The title of the article is "The Iraq Sanctions Generation - Sanctions and Suffering in Iraq."  Friends are urged to read this article.  Jim describes his conversation with some shoeshine boys who were impressed that he spoke Arabic.  In the course of the conversation Jim thought that the boys were ten or twelve years old, but when he looked carefully he realized they were 14 or 15 or 16 years old. The sanctions on food and medicine had stunted their growth.

The next Quarterly Meeting for Worship and Business will be at Solebury Meeting on May 21st.  Save that date!  Bring the children from your Meeting.
