Witness
for Humanity: A Biography of Clarence E. Pickett
Pendle Hill has announced the publication of Witness
for Humanity: A Biography of Clarence Pickett, by Larry Miller of Doylestown
Meeting. Says Stephen Cary in the foreword: "Friends - and many others
for whom the name of Clarence Pickett evokes reverence - have been waiting
for this book for a long time. To some still living Clarence was friend
and mentor. To those younger he is a legend." Elise Boulding writes "Larry
Miller’s biography inspires us to apply Clarence Pickett’s compassionate
peacebuilding strategies to the new/old problems of the 21st century..."
Larry’s book is available at the Doylestown Bookshop on South Main Street
and from Pendle Hill at 1-800-742-3150. The cost is $20.
PYM Library
The PYM Library Task Force is asking Friends for input
about how the library serves PYM Friends. The library has essentially run
out of space. Possible options are weeding the collection, relocating,
and considering new technology which other libraries now use. Friends are
asked to send their comments on what is good in the current setup and operation
and what can be improved. Friends who don’t use the library may comment
on why they don’t use it. Send your comments to Library Task Force, c/o
Robert Cleaver, 408 Centerton Rd., Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
PYM Weekend Workcamp
Judy Van Hoy has left her position at the PYM library

will have the opportunity to do repairs in the homes of low-income families
and to work with community organizations. Discussions will focus on a range
of issues from poverty and racism to our individual faith and actions.
The cost is $40. Call 1-800-220-0796.
