Children’s Friendship
Program
for Northern Ireland
The Children’s Friendship Program for Northern Ireland selects
and pairs Protestant and Catholic teens from Northern Ireland to spend
six weeks during the sumer in American homes, where they can become friends
in a neutral environment and focus on their commonalities rather than their
differences. The selected participants are paired according to their geographic
proximity so they may continue their friendships after they return to Ireland.
Friends can participate by providing a single bedroom for two teens and
daylong adult supervision for six weeks this summer, by making a financial
contribution to help cover airfares, or by letting others know about this
project so they can participate.
