Friends in the Quarter are cordially invited to attend the 14th Annual Buckingham Friends School Auction on Saturday, March 28th, at the Eagle Fire Hall in New Hope. The Silent Auction begins at 6 PM, and the Live Auction at 8:30 PM. Admission is free, the food is terrific, and the auction has some great bargains! Wilmington College, a Quaker college in Wilmington, Ohio, is offering a Quaker discount of 25% on tuition for students who are members of a Yearly Meeting or graduates of a Quaker high school. The next School of the Spirit in-depth program, On Being A Spiritual Nurturer, begins in September, 1998, and ends in May, 2000. Participants are those who are called to a variety of spiritual ministries: formal and informal spiritual friendship, on-to-one spiritual guidance, hospitality, nurture of meetings, prayerful presence. Buckingham Meeting is sponsoring a workshop for Couples in a Committed Relationship. Based on Imago Therapy, this workshop will meet for 6 sessions: 3/15, 3/22, 3/20, 4/5, 4/19, 4/26, from 6:45-9:00 PM at Buckingham Meeting. Imago Therapy helds that it is possible to find the best in one another, and is designed to support and strengthen couples in a committed relationship. Middle School and Young Friends are invited once again to Volleyball All Night! This all-night marathon is a fund-raiser for the Centro Educativo Nicaraguito School in Managua, Nicaragua. The date is Friday, March 6th, from 7 PM - 7 AM, at the Sports Center at George School. There will be volleyball, music, snacks (you’ll bring some too!), pizza & soda, swimming, and lots of fun. Last year we raised $1000. Can we do better this year? Ask your friends, family, and Meeting to help out. We will be joined by students from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Yardley who are raising money for the Heifer Project. Information: Sandy at 860-9747.
There will be a Parents’ Open House at The Quaker School at Horsham on Tuesday, March 10th from 9 - 10:30 AM. The Open House includes a slide presentation of the educational program and a tour of the school. For more information call 674-2875.

Friendly Crafters raise money for the Annual Fund at PYM by selling hand-crafted items at Yearly Meeting in March. Friendly Crafters hope that you will have some items to donate this year to help in this effort. If you’re not a crafter, check out the merchandise. It’s delightful. The dates for Yearly Meeting this year are March 26 - 28. Old Friends, new Friends, and attenders will want to participate in some or all of the sessions. Highlights of this year’s meeting include: Lloyd Lee Wilson sharing remarks on Worship & Ministry, a session on Outreach and Membership, Lady Borton speaking on "Life After War: The Resilience of Land and Spirit," a session on Addressing our Testimonies, and Friends Beliefs Around the World, among others. Child care for all ages will be provided by age group. Middle School and Young Friends will have their own programs. From Friday evening through Sunday, Young Friends will stay at Burlington; Middle School Friends will stay at Friends Center. The Bucks Quarter Singing group will sing on Saturday evening! Friends Home and Village, working in conjunction with the Seeing Eye Puppy Club, raised $638 for the Salvation Army at Christmas. They raised the funds by adopting a kettle for three days and being a presence at Clemens Market.
