At Ice Land rink in Hamilton Township, NJ 12 Noon to 2:00 PM. $4.25 per person. Skate rental free! Watch for flyers! Bring a friend!
Lehigh Valley Meeting and Falls Meeting Add to Meetinghouses
Lehigh Valley and Falls have both built additions to their meetinghouses. Lehigh Valley's additions were so extensive that Friends met at Moravian Seminary all summer and into the fall. They have added a large wing for First Day School and a new kitchen on one side of the existing meetinghouse, and a smaller wing containing offices and a conference room on the opposite side. Falls added a wing to one side of the historic meetinghouse, providing space for a new kitchen, large reception room with fireplace, classroom spaces, and a small library. The additions to both Falls and Lehigh Valley are ready for occupancy in December.
Peace Pilgrimage from Nazareth to Bethlehem
This is the 37th year for the peace pilgrimage from Nazareth to Bethlehem up in the Lehigh Valley! Join with Friends and other faith groups in this 10-mile walk in the search for a more peaceful world. Meet at the parking lot at 520 E. Broad Street (corner of Elm) in Bethlehem before 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 14th. Buses will transport participants to Nazareth. The pilgrimage begins at the Nazareth Moravian Church at 12:30 PM. The pilgrimage ends back in Bethlehem with supper at the Christ UCC. For more information call 610-258-7313.
Young Friends Welcome at Peace Pilgrimage & Overnight at Lehigh Valley
Young Friends who plan to join the peace pilgrimage are invited to stay overnight on Saturday at Lehigh Valley meetinghouse. Those who will be coming by bus will have to arrive Friday night and stay at the Sunflower's house as there is no bus service on Saturday. Others meet at the parking lot mentioned in article above. There is room for only 30 Young Friends at the meetinghouse, so register early. The cost for the overnight is $5.00 to cover food. Sunday pick-up is 11:00 AM at the meetinghouse. Questions? Teen Night at Wrightstown
Middle School and Young Friends! Come join in the cookie baking at Teen Night at Wrightstown on Saturday, December 14th! Flour in the air! Flour in your hair! Flour everywhere! Seriously, we need help to get the dozens and dozens of cookies ready for the oven. Bring spatula, mixing spoon, apron, good ideas for decorating cookies, and a snack to share. The fun starts at 7:30 PM.
Bucks Quarter Singing Group at Newtown Meeting
The singing group will meet on Wednesday, December 4th, at 7:30 PM, at Newtown Meeting. All Friends are invited to join with this informal group of singers for an evening of fun.
Pendle Hill Welcomes New Year with Conferences and Retreats
Pendle Hill is offering a wide selection of retreats and conferences in the New Year, including such topics as Clerking, Grieving and Gaining in Our Transitions, A Journey Back in Time, Forgiving Others-Forgiving Ourselves, Partners in Change, and What you Always Wanted to Know About First Day School. There will also be an Inquirers' Weekend and the Quaker Peace Roundtable, which will be held at Arch Street Meetinghouse on January 17-19. BQM Singles' Group Goes Caroling
Bucks Quarter's Singles' Group will meet on December 15th at Michele Burke's home, the carriage house in the rear of 410 East Washington Street, Newtown, at 5:00 PM. Friends will go caroling in Newtown and stop at a local eatery for a bite of food. Dress appropriately for the weather. For more information contact Deda Biles at 968-9515.
